Wasps Netball’s fixtures for the 2020 Vitality Superleague season have been confirmed.
Three games will be played at the Ericsson Indoor Arena while the state-of-the-art University of Warwick Sports and Wellness Hub will be hosting six Wasps Netball matches in 2020.
Wasps, who won the Superleague in their first two seasons in 2017 and 2018 and reached the final in 2019, will kick off their new campaign on Saturday 22 February against last season’s champions Manchester Thunder at Arena Birmingham as part of the Superleague Season Opener.
The first home game of the season will be at Ricoh Arena on Monday 2 March as Wasps battle Saracens Mavericks before away games at Team Bath and local rivals Severn Stars.
The Black and Golds are back at The Ricoh on Sunday 22 March against London Pulse before a first game of the season at the University of Warwick Sports and Wellness Hub on Saturday 4 April v Strathclyde Sirens.
There’s another occasion at the University of Warwick on Monday 20 April in a repeat of last season’s Grand Final against Manchester Thunder before returning to Ricoh Arena for a home clash with Bath on Monday 4 May.
Wasps will host Severn Stars at Warwick on Saturday 9 May before three more games at the same venue against Loughborough Lightning (Saturday 24 May), Surrey Storm (Wednesday 3 June) and Celtic Dragons for the last game of the regular season on Monday 15 June.
Wasps Netball Franchise Manager Sarah Taylor said: “We’re really excited about the 2020 season. We’ve got a really good balance of fixtures for everybody to be able to come along and enjoy elite-level netball in the region, and it’s fantastic news that we’re able to host games at both the Ricoh Arena and the University of Warwick.
“The University of Warwick has fantastic, state-of-the-art facilities which we’ve been using right from the start when we were established in 2016. We have forged a very strong partnership with them over the past few years. Last season, the venue hosted a fantastic semi-final for us as we defeated Loughborough and we are delighted to be showcasing more games at their Sports and Wellness Hub in this coming campaign, to strengthen our ever-growing relationship.
“In 2020 there will be nine home fixtures – one more than last season – so there will be even more action for fans to look forward to at home.”
Season Memberships for the 2020 season will be on sale soon.
