Wasps Netball U21 Head Coach Dannii Titmuss is preparing for the upcoming season which begins on Saturday 12 January against Manchester Thunder at the England Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
Dannii Titmuss: We would expect to medal, we have medalled in every competition we’ve competed in so far, so that is the minimum requirement for us this season. Obviously, our sights are set to win the league and to claim back our title from the first season. We are in it to win it!
How will you build on your first two seasons?
DT: I think we will need to be more consistent across the season and across all the games, we've had a good pre-season prep and I’d expect us to hit the ground running. A lot of the squad have been here since the beginning, and we’ve also had a few new members join us this year. I think we have a very exciting mix of players.
Who are the stand-out players that you are excited about?
DT: Sienna Rushton is definitely one to watch. This is her third season with the U21s and she is also with the senior squad. Sienna is an incredibly accurate shooter who has really developed her court craft over the last couple of seasons.
Who are the biggest threats this season?
DT: Thunder are always a challenge as they are very structured. Bath and Pulse will also be top-spot contenders this season.
